What is Search Engine Optimisation?

Search engine optimisation

Is the method of improving the visibility of a website, web page, or web blog in a search engine’s (such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo) “natural” or un-paid (“organic”) search results, known as SERP for short. The aim of every website is to be positioned on page 1 of Google for the websites chosen keyword(s). Universally the earlier and more often a website appears in a search engines listing, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO also targets different elements of search which include; searches, local business search, video search, academic search, news search, and blog searches.

SEO is one of the most competitive internet marketing channels, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimising a website may involve editing its content, and associated coding to both increase the search relevance to specific subject matters or keywords. The main aim of SEO is to deliver an internet user or searcher to a website based on their relevant search, instead of trying to find a needle in a haystack.
